Runners climbing the Toast Rack

The Toast Rack

The long, narrow climb of the Toast Rack will take you and your soggy feet from the bottom of the Common to the top.

Wimbledon Windmill

The Windmill

The iconic landmark of Wimbledon Common can be seen from a long way off and will let you know where you are – you'll pass it just after the half-way mark.

The rise of the Alps

The Alps

They might not quite be the Eiger or the Matterhorn, but the Common's version of the Alps present a couple of stiff climbs to break up your rhythm.

Mud on the Butts

The Butts

After some easy downhill running from the Alps it's time to get back to work. This stretch has a couple of abrupt rises but the main challenge here is the under-foot conditions – it can be notoriously muddy. If the weather has been wet in the lead-up to the race then be prepared for a quagmire.

Runners wading through Beverley Brook

The Watersplash

Just before the end comes the splash itself! Your legs might be tired but lift your knees up, keep some momentum and you'll make it from one side of Beverley Brook to the other in no time.
