Race Feedback
Don't just take our word for it, here's what people have said about the Dash for the Splash...
Just wanted to say thanks for organising the Dash for the Splash. I had a great time and was delighted to make it round without falling over, although you wouldn't know it from the amount of mud on me! I would say it was my slowest but most fun 10k!
Thank you for your email this morning and for the race on Sunday. I loved it and am surprised at how much I did, as in my 50s, I find I am slowing considerably and find hillier courses much tougher than I used to. But the race on Sunday was fantastic, perhaps blessed by marvellous weather, it all came good. The course was really well marked and I appreciated the help getting out the Brook. The marshals did a great job and the organisation seemed seamless. The tea towel in the goodie bag was a really nice touch and one my wife certainly appreciated. Already looking forward to next year.
Thanks for an excellent race! If you're not in a club that does XC league then opportunities to race in mud can be limited – so that was much appreciated. We from Barnes all very much enjoyed it. I've now read the book about Coe & Ovett and it gave me nightmares about trying to do hill reps on a sand dune.
Many thanks to Thames Hare & Hounds for organising a great race, the conditions mud & water were great fun and a real challenge to the old legs. I look forward to running it again next year...
The D4TS was the first X-C race I've done (well, since I was forced to do it at school when I was 11). I loved it. I thought the course was superb – very well designed. It was really well balanced – very tough in places but with enough flat and downhill to recover. I run on the common quite a bit and have never seen half those tracks, so it was also interesting for local runners. Overall the event was really well organised – lots of communication in the build up, well run on the day. And the tea towel from the goody bag is in the kitchen. Great job. It was one of the best races I've entered (er, not for time reasons!). Hope you put it on again. I'll be back and will be recommending it to others.
A great race, enjoyed it very much. I have done similar events, The Grim, The Terminator and Hellrunner and yours compared favourably with the extra water helping. Please make this a regular event in the calendar and it was very good value as some races are very expensive. So well done to all the organisers and marshals for a thoroughly enjoyable event.
Thank you for organising – and going ahead – with Sunday's race. It was a true runner's race – no hype, no microphones, genuine old-fashioned clubhouse, hot tea, cake etc. Everything was extremely well organised. The marshals were friendly and encouraging despite standing around for a long time in the bright cold. Special thanks to those who helped us out of the Splash.
Thoroughly enjoyed race, very good route, made better by the floods.
Thanks for an excellent run yesterday. We enjoyed the intended splash plus the larger swamp that did numb the feet a bit. It was a proper cross country. We loved it. The marshals were all really helpful and cheerily encouraged us. I'm a very lucky recipient of prizes – I love the book, although so far I've only read a few pages. The tea towel is a great idea – it's the first thing my son has to take to uni with him when he starts in September. The shoes are an incredibly generous prize. Thanks again.
